With all the games that our students play you would think that they could come up with some great games right off the top of their heads! While my students are a diverse group, with a combination of freshmen, sophomore, juniors, and seniors, it is like pulling teeth getting them to think out of the box. They can come up with all kinds of killing games or games that you are blowing up things, but none that will teach kids anything to due with STEM!
Yes I know that all the bombs are designed by engineers and scientist, or the guns take into account physics, and all of this is about math, but come on! I truly believe that just maybe this class is opening the eyes of some students and making them sit back and think how the games they play are not teaching them anything! Some students have even made comments about playing educational games verse the killing and blowing up games. Some students do not have a clue nor do they care if the games they are playing teach them anything or not!
